Sangeeta Sinha: 2002. International Competition for Graduate Paper Presentation at the EWC International Graduate Student Conference to be held at the Imin Conference Center of the East-West Center in Honolulu, February 21-24, 2002. Won an invitation to present “International Tourism and Development in Asia ” in the poster session, with a waiver of conference fees and subsidized accommodation.

Ronald Swatzyna: First Prize for the best paper in the Graduate Students category at the Academic Celebration of Excellence at University of Texas at Arlington , April 2003. Paper titled “Reproductive health and war in developing
countries”

Ms. Arati Maleku, School of Social Work PhD student awarded first prize for the best paper presented at the Annual ceremony that celebrates excellence for students, faculty, and staff across all colleges at the University of Texas – Arlington. March 2013. Paper titled “Does Female Literacy Reduce Maternal Mortality? Findings from a Latent Growth Curve Analysis”.

Bonita Sharma, School of Social Work PhD student won the 2015 PIE award (for excellence in International Social Work) for students , awarded by the Council on Social Work Education.

Ms.Arati Maleku: Honorable mention of the 2016 Society for Social Work and Research Outstanding Social Work Doctoral Dissertation Award for the dissertation entitled “The Social Determinants of Immigrant Well-Being in the United States: A Gendered Perspective.”. Awarded January 2016. SSWR Annual Conference in Washington DC.

Ms. Jeyle Ortiz-Gonzales, School of Social Work PhD student received ‘Women’s & Gender Studies Student Excellence Award’ at the Annual ceremony that celebrates excellence for students, faculty, and staff across all colleges at the University of Texas – Arlington. March 2016. Her paper was titled “Differences in levels of support for gender equality between working and nonworking women in Mexico “

Ms. Rupal Parekh: School of Social Work PhD student received the 2017 Okura Mental Health Scholarship awarded by the Asian and Pacific Islander Social Workers Committee (CSWE) for her research on “Sahanshakti :Examining “Sahanshakti” & Mental Well-Being in the Lives of Older Asian Indian Immigrant Women in the United States.”
